A brief history...
I was born in 1989 in Cape Town, South Africa, and have always loved art. I've been
drawing and
painting for as long as I can remember, later experimenting with writing and illustrating my own 'books' and comics before discovering computers and all things digital around 1999.
Somewhere around then I first discovered the joy of animation. I began to explore stopmotion techniques, leading to a claymation project which lasted over a year. The resulting
Santa's Pause (the less said about this the better...) was my first 'film', and I've been hooked ever since.
Throughout high school I continued to produce animation, moving from clay figures to digitally created scenes but still working stopmotion style. In 2008 I started working with Flash and, more recently, After Effects, and this has really broadened my horizons.
Animation is my biggest interest at the moment, but
painting will always be my first love. Most of my paintings have been for school but I plan on doing many more, hopefully some time soon...
Photography is mainly a hobby/ingredient in my animation, but I really enjoy it and often carry a camera with me wherever I go.
Art provides a means of expression and escapism, and that's what I like best...I find inspiration in nature, music, mythology and dreams. I'm also a work-a-holic and like to be constantly busy; so if you'd like to work together, or just want to say hello,
please get in touch.
